Finished in a beautifully worn Aged Nocaster Blonde nitro, with heavy dirty checking and a relic treatment that looks like decades of honest stage use, this 2018 Mid Year Limited Edition is one of the most distinctive Teles the Fender Custom Shop has ever built. The clever part is the HS pickup layout: a Seymour Duncan Seth Lover SH-55 humbucker sits in the neck, paired with a hand wound Crushed Blackguard single coil at the bridge. That combination gives you warm, vocal humbucker tones and the unmistakable Telecaster twang from one guitar. The rift sawn maple neck carries a chunky 10/56 "V" profile in Dark Tint flash coat lacquer, topped with a 7.25 to 9.5" compound radius maple fingerboard and 21 6100 Jumbo frets (guitar has been refretted). An engraved Limited Edition neck plate, vintage silver Telecaster decal and the original Custom Shop tweed case with certificate round out a properly collectible package.

Thanks to a dual stack concentric volume control, the 250k circuit behaves correctly for the single coil while letting the Seth Lover open up with full clarity, so neither pickup ever sounds shrill or choked. The Seth Lover is an unpotted, Alnico 2 PAF style humbucker with a sweet, airy top end and that piano like attack, while the Crushed Blackguard bridge pickup is a hotter, more aggressive take on the classic Blackguard voice, with extra midrange punch and compression and plenty of vintage Tele snap with a modern edge.
