The 1979 Fender Stratocaster Hardtail is a fantastic example of a less common and increasingly collectible variation of the classic Stratocaster. While most Stratocasters from this era were equipped with tremolo bridges, the Hardtail models were produced in significantly smaller numbers and have developed a strong following among players who prefer maximum tuning stability, increased sustain, and a more direct attack.
Finished in Natural with a beautiful Maple Fretboard, this guitar captures the unmistakable look and feel of late-1970s Fender production. The hardtail bridge design transfers string energy directly into the body, giving the instrument a punchy, resonant character that sets it apart from traditional tremolo-equipped Strats.
This example is remarkably clean for its age and remains 100% original, including its electronics, pickups, hardware, and finish. A wonderful vintage Fender that has survived more than four decades in exceptionally well-preserved condition.
Includes the Original Fender Hardcase.

Historical Perspective
Hardtail Stratocasters from the late 1970s were produced in much smaller numbers than their tremolo-equipped counterparts. Many players consider these guitars hidden gems within the vintage Fender market due to their enhanced sustain, tuning stability, and rarity. Finding a clean, all-original example with its original case has become increasingly difficult as more collectors and players discover their appeal.
