For sale or even up trade (I buy yours, you buy mine thru Reverb only) 2017 left handed Gibson Gold Top Les Paul Tribute with updates and case. Purchased about 6 months ago, my first and last Gibson Les Paul.
There were several items not described to me before I purchased this from a gentleman here on Reverb, and he was very apologetic and willing to make anything good as he stated it is how he bought it and he had no prior knowledge of Les Paul's in general and I believe him, but since it wasn't catastrophic for me I'll just explain here and you make your own call.
From the top, tuners are not original and I have no idea what the originals are supposed to be, I'm guessing square back Kluson type Gibsons but these Grover's are standard on many Gibson's so I assume these will suffice as they have presented no tuning issues for me. The humbuckers are Seymour Duncan PAF's 59ers, and again I am unaware of what would have been factory, but these are very tasty and will give you all the Pagey/classic rock/southern rock tones you so desire. And you just gotta love the zebra coils on a gold top, it was one of the most desirable elements for me when I saw this and a major eye catcher.
I have taken care of that RIDICULOUS PC board crud Gibson uses and I replaced the entire assembly with a Starr system, complete with the correct lefty tapered tone controls so you have complete tonal control. Now turning volume counter-clockwise is volume and tone up, and clock-wise turns them down, just like a Stratocaster, as the gods intended!
There are a few nicks, most obvious one pictured, but overall in excellent shape, not a wall hanger but certainly a beauty to look at if that's all you do, and if you're a player then this is your gold top ride for half the cost of a usual Gibby GT Standard. It is fairly light weight compared to other Les Pauls I've picked up in the past being much heavier than this one....it doesn't sound "chambered" when you knock on it but I have read that there are some that are chambered so again I am not certain either way, only that it is much lighter than other LP's I've held.
Neck is very comfy, slim with the same feel as the 60's Epi Paul reissues.
As for even up trades, lefty Fender maple neck American Pro I and II, American Original 57 or 62, any American ash body Fender FSR, or 50th Anniversary, 57, 62 Vintage II.
