Beautiful older Yamaha Custom wood clarinet. Instrument plays from top to bottom with a centered, clean sound and strong projection. The original “81” barrel plays especially well with the instrument.
No cracks observed in the wood. Silver-plated keywork still presents nicely with normal cosmetic wear from age and use. The extra barrel ring will spin if manually moved. A tech can fix it. It didn't bother me,I actually prefer the stock marked 81. Cork is functional although a tech may recommend service. Pads are currently playable, though the instrument may benefit from adjustment or servicing to suit the next player’s preference.
