This is a Fender Japan Jaguar “JG66-75,” from the highly regarded E-Serial period and built at the renowned Fujigen factory.
Based on the serial number (E6******), this example is believed to be from 1986, which was the very first production year of the JG model.
E-Serial Jaguars and Jazzmasters are extremely rare, even in Japan, and are seldom seen on the market. This guitar does show a fair amount of player wear, so it may not be ideal for collectors. However, in my experience, a guitar that has been played a lot is often a good one, and I personally recommend this example. If you have been looking for an E-Serial Jaguar, this is a great opportunity.
Specifications:
According to the 1986 catalog, the body wood was either alder or basswood.
Given the weight of approximately 3.8 kg, it is most likely alder.
Neck: Maple
Fingerboard: Rosewood
Condition:
As this is an instrument from nearly 40 years ago, it shows natural signs of age and use.
There are several noticeable marks and dings, some of which have been touched up. There are also finish cracks on the body top that look similar to weather checking.
There is a slight dent around the strap pin area on the body end. This area has been touched up, and the strap pin has been replaced.
The fingerboard also shows some wear, but there are currently no issues such as dead notes.
The frets still have a fairly good amount of life remaining, so it may have been refretted at some point.
A Bridge Fixing Bush has been installed to secure the bridge.
The guitar has been lightly cleaned and given a basic setup.
Although it shows signs of age, this adds to its authentic vintage character, giving the guitar a very attractive look and feel.
Included:
Aftermarket hard case and aftermarket tremolo arm.
Please note that the case has a minor issue with the inner pocket lid.
Please note that this is a used item.
There are no issues with its current functionality, but please understand that you may need to make further adjustments after purchase to suit your preferences.
Be sure to review the photos and description carefully before placing a bid.
