FGN- Fujigen Expert Mighty Jazz EMJ MIJ, 2012 - Sonic Blue

Selling my FGN / Fujigen Expert Mighty Jazz bass in Sonic Blue.

Made in Japan by Fujigen, known for excellent build quality, consistency, and high-end Japanese craftsmanship. This is an Expert Mighty Jazz / EMJ-style bass with an alder body, maple U-shape neck, rosewood fingerboard, 34” scale, FGN C.F.S. fret system, Gotoh-style tuners, high-mass bridge, and 2 volume / 1 tone Jazz-style passive control layout.

This bass was provided to me directly by FGN/Fujigen in 2012 through an artist/sponsorship arrangement. It appears to be a prototype or artist-supplied EMJ model. The bass shows evidence of having been originally routed/configured for active electronics, but it was supplied to me by FGN as a passive bass. It originally came with FGN pickups, and I later upgraded it with Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound Jazz Bass pickups for a bigger, punchier, higher-output tone.

The serial number is A120458, which dates it to approximately 2012 based on the common FGN serial format.

Plays great and sounds excellent. The Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound pickups give it a clear, punchy, high-output Jazz Bass-style voice with strong low end and great definition. Excellent for recording, live use, rock, indie, pop, and general studio bass duties.

Cosmetically it shows normal signs of use, including some small marks and scratches from playing, but nothing that affects function or playability. See photos.
