This is one of the BEST sounding and playing bass trombones I've ever owned. I've played everything from large orchestral gigs of Verdi and Brahms to brass ensemble concerts, trombone quartets, and jazz/big band gigs. This horn is super versatile, regardless of the genre. It blows open and free with plenty of bite down low if you need it, as well as clarity and zing up top.
It is light-weight, easy on the hand and shoulder. String linkage has had no issue, end crook is immaculate, and slide is 9.5/10 on a bad day. No wearing on the inner slide, no dents in the bell or slide, just lacquer loss on the horn. To my best estimation, this horn was built around the late 70's/early 80s ad comes with the original Yamaha hard case.
I intended to keep it and turn it into a double valve bass, but found a double that works really well for me.
