Vintage 1960's Silvertone (Teisco) 1487 Built-In Amplifier Electric Guitar w/ Original Gig Bag!

Up for sale is this vintage 1960's Silvertone 1487 built-in amplifier electric guitar. One of the coolest Tesico models of all time, it was offered from 1964 to 1967 and advertised as a "full half-watt of rock and roll power!".

This particular example is in very nice condition for its age. We've been fortunate enough to offer a few of these over the years and this is by far the nicest example that we've ever seen. The original brown sparkle finish is in very nice condition, showing only some minor scuffs, scratches, and small dings. The hardware is very similar, very clean showing the lightest of pitting. The original "on-off" sticker and neck plate model stickers are present and look like the did the day that they were slapped on. It isn't perfect, but it's very, very nice.

This one has just been gone over by our tech who cleaned it up, sprayed out the electronics, installed a fresh set of strings, and performed a light set up. It plays great with comfortable, low action all the way up the neck. The neck is straight but, as is typical with these vintage Japanese instruments of this era, the fretwork isn't totally level which leads to some light buzzing here and there. With that being said, it's the best playing example that we've ever seen in person and nothing frets out and it's ready to hit the stage straight out of the box. The built-in amplifier works (and actually sounds pretty cool) as does the standard 1/4" jack for regular playing.

The original gig bag is included bit the zipper is busted and one side is loose (pictured) so it does not close and the guitar wants to slip out when held by the handle. The guitar will be well-packed with this in mind to ensure safe shipping.

If you're into this, or just this one in particular, you simply will not find a cleaner, better playing example. Don't miss out...
