Custom shop-built 12-fret dreadnought. Added features include aging toner on the Sitka spruce top, a Fishman Matrix VT Enhance NT2 pickup, and a shorter scale length at 24.9” and 5/16” scalloped braces. Solid mahogany back and sides of course, and a mahogany neck with the standard taper modified V profile. The fingerboard is black ebony, the headplate is Indian rosewood, and the tuners are nickel Grovers. Black ebony belly bridge with 2 & 1/4” string spacing, bone saddle and nut. Satin neck and gloss body. It has mostly what you’d expect for a 12-fret Martin D-18 “S” model – built for fingerstyle with a 1 & 3/4” nut width and the aforementioned shorter scale. “S” slot-head Martins in this size are harder to find. This one is in excellent condition with just a few minor dings, otherwise clean. You can really notice the extra volume you get with the 12-fret dovetail neck-body joint. Just a great-playing, great-looking, and great-sounding flattop. Was $4,200 new, and would likely be at least 10% today. Has all factory papers and spec sheet, comes in its original hard case. Made in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, USA.
