Very cool 1985 Boss DD-2 Long chip Digital Delay with candy.

This pedal is in beautiful condition, fully tested and works as it should with no issues.

Pedal dates to December of 1985. Comes with key-fob that Boss did as a promotion in 1985. Also has original box, instructions and product advertisement book.

Released in 1983, the Boss DD-2 is a legendary stompbox famous for being the world's first compact digital delay. It famously packed the studio-quality 12-bit custom IC chip from the iconic Roland SDE-3000 rack unit into a compact pedal format, yielding a remarkably warm and musical tone. • Delay Time: Ranges from 12.5ms to 800ms.
• Hold Function: Allows infinite looping/repeating of a phrase.
• Connectivity: Features both a Main Output and a Direct Output for stereo routing.

Versions & History

• The "Long Chip" (1983-1986): Early models featured the prized larger custom IC. Due to declining chip costs and high demand, Boss rebranded the DD-2 as the DD-3 in 1986 with identical circuitry.
• Cosmetics: Early units had cream text, eventually switching to silver text around late 1984.
