This is a Gibson 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue (R9). It is a fantastic players guitar. The entire front of the guitar - top, fretboard, etc is in great shape, which is nice because that’s all people will see when it’s being played.
The back, however, is a slightly different story. There are a few dings and buckle rash throughout the back - nothing too crazy. I tried to picture them. The main issue is that the previous owner got it signed by a music artist, and whoever the artist was decided to sign it as big as possible. Not really sure what either of them were thinking, but now you have a chance to get into an R9 at a great price!
The playability and action is perfection. It’s just as good as every other R9 I’ve owned. It sounds incredible as well. If you’re buying this thing to play it, then you’re going to be VERY happy. I don’t think this is a collectors piece, but it is a serious, professional grade guitar for a serious musician. It weighs 8lbs 11oz.
The COA and some case candy are included as well as the original case. Please let me know if you have questions or need any more pics.
It could also be used as a great build foundation for a historic makeovers project.
Thanks for looking!
