Up for sale is a rare, handmade 2024 Darren Hippner OM Steel String Acoustic Guitar, hand-built in America. While Darren Hippner is globally renowned for his classical guitars, he builds only a highly select few steel strings. They are highly sought after, and well worth the search.

This particular instrument is Brand New Old Stock (NOS) and has never been played. Built as a completely unique, hand-crafted one-off, this guitar features structural elements of classic Martin acoustics—most notably in its traditional heel construction and internal bracing. To get an equivalent level of hand-selected woods and boutique American craftsmanship from a major custom shop, you would easily expect to pay upwards of $3,500.

Premium Tonewoods & Craftsmanship

• The Top: Premium solid Sitka Spruce, giving the guitar a very strong, articulate, and clear voice.
• Back & Sides: Gorgeous solid East Indian Rosewood, delivering deep, warm bass and complex overtones.
• Neck & Bridge: A stable Mahogany neck paired with a dark Rosewood bridge.
• Fretboard: A beautiful dark Ebony fingerboard featuring traditional Abalone dot inlays and a matching Rosewood headstock cap.
• The Finish: The entire instrument is finished in a coat of high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, allowing the solid woods to resonate fully.

Condition & Premium Hardware

• Condition: Brand-new old stock. It is completely crack-free and has zero structural history or play wear.
• Tuners: Equipped with a brand-new set of Gotoh tuning keys. They operate with excellent precision, turn smoothly, and hold tuning perfectly.
• Fretwork: The ebony fretboard and frets are in unplayed condition. The frets have just been polished.

Setup & Playability Specs

This OM is currently strung with medium tension strings and has been given a fast, comfortable, low-action setup:

• Scale Length: 25.5 inches (Standard long scale for optimal string tension and projection)
• Nut Width: 42 millimeters
• Action Height: Fast, uniform, and exceptionally low at 2.0mm on both the Low E and High E strings at the 12th fret.
