After a decade in production, the JHS Kilt is back with a fresh voice and a slick new look. This isn’t just a facelift — the updated clipping section gives you more headroom, a smoother attack, and a drive range that’s richer and more dynamic than ever before. In short: it’s everything you loved, but turned up a notch!

Back in 2015, JHS Pedals teamed up with Stu G (legendary guitarist and founding member of the UK band Delirious?) to create the ultimate dirt pedal. Stu needed something that could handle anything — studio sessions, world tours, you name it. From that challenge, the Kilt was born. And since then, it’s been one of JHS’s most popular overdrive/distortion stompboxes.

The original Kilt stood out thanks to its clarity, versatility, and responsiveness. But over time, players asked for a few tweaks: extra headroom for cleaner tones, a more noticeable flat/cut toggle, and better control over low-gain textures. The Kilt 10 answers all those requests while keeping the DNA that made guitarists fall in love with it in the first place.

Volume: Sets your output level. Turn left for less, right for more. Thanks to the extra headroom, you won’t need to crank it past noon anymore. And you’ve got plenty of room to use it as a clean boost when you need that extra push.

Gain: Adjusts how much drive you’re working with. Left for subtle, right for savage. The first quarter of the range is now super usable, giving you transparent, low-gain textures that weren’t possible before. Push it further and you’ll hit that classic, gated fuzz territory.

Tone: Controls brightness. Left is darker, right is brighter. It’s a refined high-frequency control that adds clarity and plays nicely with a wider range of amps.

G1/G2 toggles: These two switches unlock up to four clipping options. Both down = lowest gain. Flip G1 up for more overdrive. Flick G2 up for more fuzz. Both up? That’s the heaviest gated fuzz the Kilt can deliver! Bonus: G2 can also be triggered with a Red Remote (for on-the-fly fuzz madness).

Low-Cut toggle: Down is flat EQ. Up is the “cut” mode, which trims the lows for a leaner tone.
