A lot was changed at Gibson in 1965. But the early 65 335's were identical to 64's except for the tuners and the truss rod cover. Then the tailpiece went from stop tail to trapeze. The parts went from nickel to chrome and the neck got progressively thinner. The big 64 neck 65's are still a tremendous bargain. It plays like a 64, sounds like a 64 and doesn't cost $35,000 or more. This guitar looks nearly new. Condition is 9+ and it is all original. Nothing has been changed. No issues at all. You can spend $35,000 to $40,000 and get a wonderful 64 but if your budget won't get you there, this fairly early '65 will. Early enough for the big neck and wide (1 11/16") nut. Late enough for chrome parts and the trapeze tailpiece. The pickups have never been opened...they could be identical to PAFs (early patent) or they could be second generation (pre T) patents. Case is original black with yellow interior.
