I picked this up from the owner of Love of Fuzz a couple of years ago (one of the finest guitar shops in the North East, if you ever get the chance). It was his personal guitar for many years until I persuaded him to sell it to me. It’s definitely a special one.
The guitar is all original apart from an immaculate refret and overall is in really great shape. There is some light wear on the top horn. The neck lacquer is worn in a way only vintage guitars seem to get—not worn away but supremely smooth to play— and the nitro cracks on the headstock look so cool. The guitar has had a recent refret at Love of Fuzz and plays perfectly, and the trem is dialed in.
One very unique idiosyncrasy—the bridge pickup has staggered pole pieces and neck is flat. TJ at Love of Fuzz said it was all original and likely transition between pickups —so this unique beast was right on the cusp. The important thing is the both sound incredible!
Overall, it’s everything you’d wish from a vintage fender and jag; addictive to play, snappy, vibey and just the most fun you’ll have on six strings. Pains me to move this one on.
Comes with original case which is in great shape, and the mute which is in the case.
Shipped or pick up in Austin.
