1965 Fender Stratocaster "Player's Dream" – Vintage Soul & Incredible Feel
If you are looking for a vintage Fender that prioritizes tone and playability above all else, look no further. We are proud to offer this exceptional parts-caster build, centered around a highly desirable 1965 Fender large-headstock neck.
This guitar is a serious player’s instrument. It combines the legendary feel of a mid-60s Fender neck with a resonant, lightweight body, making it a dream for stage or studio use.
The Anatomy of the Build
- The Neck: The heart of this guitar is the 1965 large-headstock neck. It features a fantastic, chunky profile that fits perfectly in the hand. The headstock shows some light shadow marks around the tuner bushings—a common sign of vintage history—but there are no extra holes drilled on the back. You will find some very slight, stable hairline cracks emerging from a few of the tuner posts and an added string tree, consistent with its long life on the road.
- The Body & Electronics: The neck is married to what appears to be a 1970 Fender body. This body has been routed slightly deeper in the bridge cavity. There is some light clear overspray on the body, ptrobably done to mitigate finish wear, it is very professionally done. The electronics feature 1966 potentiometers (a match for the era of the neck) and the original 3-way switch. The pickups have been replaced. The neck pickup carries a bit more vintage character whiole the other two seem newer in construction.
- Playability: This guitar plays and sounds truly fantastic. It has been set up to ensure the action is smooth and responsive all the way up the neck.
