The Epiphone 1820 / ET-280, was the brand's first solid body bass from Japan. It was first listed in the October 1970 Epiphone price list, although it is not certain it was available in stores this early; it was standard practice to list new models in prices lists some time before they were actually available. It was a solid instrument, with a hardwood body and bolt-on neck, a nice rosewood fretboard and two single coil pickups. Controls were simple - a master volume and tone with a three-way pickup selector

Other than some dings and scratches on edge of bass, this example is in excellent condition. Some of the larger dings have been filled in. Neck is straight, frets show minimal wear and fretboard has been thoroughly cleaned and conditioned. All parts are original and action has been setup to .090-.080 measured at 12th fret and this bass plays fantastic with a nice slim profile neck. Scale length is 30.5".

Pots and switch has been cleaned with contact cleaner and pickups have a very nice punchy sound thats very reminiscent of a Fender P-Bass. Controls are simple; one master volume and tone controls.

A new set of roundwound strings have been installed and Bass comes with a high quality padded gig bag.
