This is a vintage “Elkhart era” Conn 8D (K series) double horn in nickel silver, circa 1967. Most of the lacquer on the body is gone however the flairs have 80% of lacquer intact.  The horn has the expected amount of a wear/small dings you would expect for a horn of this age however for the age it is in excellent condition and is fully functional mechanically. The rotors have had a valve job at some point based on the nickel plating present however there is no documentation to support when this was done. The horn was purchased new by the previous owner with a fixed bell and at some point a bell cut conversion was completed by Walter Lawson himself, at which point it was also fitted with an Ambronze Lawson flair.  The original flair was also fitted with a ring to use on the horn and is part of this sale.  This is horn a “One Percenter” of this model era as it’s been extremely well cared for and had all the most desirable upgrades that any discerning professional player could hope to have.  Surely a pick of the litter 8D that won’t last long.
