The BOSS FV-50H is a high-impedance stereo volume pedal designed primarily for passive pickup electric guitars and basses.
It is engineered to be placed at the beginning of a signal chain (before distortion or other effect pedals) to control instrument volume without signal loss or tone degradation.
The FV-50H distinguishes itself through its high-impedance input, making it ideal for passive pickups found in most electric guitars. Unlike low-impedance pedals meant for keyboards, this unit preserves the instrument's natural frequency response and dynamics when used before amplifiers or overdrive pedals.
It features a stereo 2-in/2-out design, allowing for complex signal routing in stereo setups. A dedicated Tuner Out jack provides a direct, unaffected signal path to a tuner, enabling silent tuning on stage without interrupting the main audio output.
The pedal also includes an adjustable Minimum Volume knob, allowing players to set a floor for the volume sweep, which is useful for creating rhythm presets or limiting the range of motion.
