ITEM DESCRIPTION: Up for sale is one Rocktron Gainiac rack-mount guitar preamp/distortion unit. These tube-based guitar preamps have that unique precision Tom and Rocktron made famous with their Rockman units in the 1980s. The Gainiac similarly provides very crisp articulation and can provide amp-like sag when the gain channel is pushed. But here's the thing: these have an amazing clean channel. In fact, the clean channel is a kind of secret weapon, a set-and-forget element that operates like a sonic maximizer with gain and which is designed by guitarists for guitarists! This unit is in good preowned condition with the typical signs of previous racking and use. Unit is fully functional and ships with its power supply. Though not included, channel switching on these uses a common single latching footswitch. Unit will be carefully boxed up for bulletproof protection while in transit.
