Unknown Maker 12 String Oud 1960s? - Hand rubbed tung oil

Here is a beautiful vintage 12 string Oud that I’ve restored. I’m a luthier of over 20 years of building and repair experiance. I performed some stave repair on the back . During this time I was able to peek inside and see that on the heel of the instrument there is what looks like a Turkish newspaper. Although seemingly of Syrian design this is my only note of the whereabouts of the maker. There are absolutely no notations of marks on this instrument which is a shame . I’ve never seen such complex and adept marquetry. There is a small separation on the right upper bout that I secured. The neck joint by the pegbox of course was dried out and it had fallen off . This has been re-glued . The original “ T” shaped bridge I replaced with an Indian rosewood bridge I made of a more modern style which brings the action down to a professional playing height . The action as stated in the pictures is a strong 1/8th inch which translates to slightly over 3. 175 MM at the neck to body joint.I believe the Top to be Spruce given how it’s aged .The staves are Padauk and the neck and peg box Mahogany. There is a blonde wood in the marquetry which may be Hornbeam. The dimensions are as follows.Bowl depth is 9” width is 14” body length is 34” scale length is 25 3/4” nut width is 1 5/8ths. I have refinished the instrument with tung oil in its period fashion.Original Hornbeam pegs were removed and I fit Parisian eye Blackwood pegs to the peg box,a vast improvement over the hand hewn pegs and hold Wonderfully.

Oud comes with another set of strings,misrab and a hardcase .
