Fender Jaguar 1965 Sunburst #L97145
A 1965 Fender Jaguar in sunburst now in stock! It weighs approximately 3.66kg.
The serial number is "L97145", the neck date is "1AUG65B", and it is a B-neck manufactured in August 1965. It features a sunburst alder body, original pickguard, a round-laminated rosewood fingerboard without binding, and pearloid position markers.
It also comes standard with a sponge-type mute mechanism called "Fender Mute" between the bridge and the rear pickup.
Almost all parts, including pickups, pots, capacitors, and hardware, were original, but since most of the parts and wiring were unusable upon arrival, we performed an overhaul which included: a refret, replacement of the nut, bridge, saddles, and jack (the bridge is a genuine Fender "005-4460-049"). In addition, we replaced the volume and tone pots, the ON/OFF switches for the front and rear pickups, the low-cut switch, and the preset tone ON/OFF switch. The pot for the preset tone was fine after cleaning, so we left it as is. The pickups themselves are original, and we have repaired them in a way that will please the player the most.
This is not a collector's item; we value making vintage guitars playable and usable right away, so you can use it for everyday playing, recording, and on stage.
After the repair, this Jaguar is very easy to use in terms of both sound and playability. It has the feel of a vintage guitar, and every pickup position and preset tone has its uses, which is great. The fact that it doesn't feel as difficult to play as some Jaguars is probably largely due to the new frets and the smooth finish of the neck, giving it a feel not dissimilar to a recent Custom Shop relic.
Some of us used to think of Jaguars as the type of guitar where the player has to put up with some difficulty to make it work, but with this one, there is none of that dissatisfaction. It has an irresistible charm that makes you want to own it as soon as you spend some time playing it, and it has completely changed our view of Jaguars. Good things are truly good. We highly recommend trying it out in the store, and you can experience the authentic Jaguar sound. Don't miss this opportunity.
