READ FULL DESCRIPTION & REWIEW ALL PHOTOS THOROUGHLY. Vintage Marantz 2245 Rare Rose Gold Champagne Engraved Receiver #3446 with that classic warm tube-like Marantz sound. Conservatively I would rate this 7 out of 10 cosmetically, 10 out of 10 for sound. Everything functions as it should for clean/pristine sound. Review cosmetic details below.

*RARE* - Marantz made the first 4,000 serial numbered (starting with the first unit number being #1000 so #1000 through #5000) as Rose Gold Champagne Engraved meaning the faceplate and interior chassis were a rose gold metal and lettering was engraved rather than screenprinted.

New led bulbs and vellum paper to restore blue tuner dial face. All knobs/buttons treated with deoxit and fader lube, all sound pristine. Am/Fm, Phono, Aux fully functioning and sounding pristine.

COSMETICS - most notably this has a dented top left corner which has been conditioned carefully back to a decent position with minimal impact on the face. I had planned to get a wood case which would conceal nearly completely this corner situation. You can see some marks on the top edge and back, please review those photos. Additionally there are a few scratches and light dings which have all been photographed close up. These are harder to notice from further away so I am including close ups of all areas for your full inspection of cosmetic condition.

WORTH NOTING - When I obtained this unit the phono and the power supply board were not working. I have replaced both from a parts until to restore full performance from the unt. I have also replaced capacitors / known noisy transistors on the power supply and new relay switch. After replacing the phono board there was a noticable hum which resolved when I touched both phono rca outer plug parts with thin wire. After hours of trying to remedy within the unit, I decided to simply solder a small wire connecting the phono outer plug parts on the inside of the back inputs. This completely resolved all hum for quiet/pristine sound on phono. A future technician may be able to dig in deeper to resolve at the phono board appropriately inside so I am noting this here for your information.

You are getting this receiver in working condition as noted and photographed. Any vintage receiver of this era would benefit from a full restoration, however it sounds great as is. Because of its age I cannot offer warranty or guarantee performance over time, you are buying knowing the condition and age. I have tested for well over 40 hours with no noticable issues.

I have extensive experience shipping heavy vintage electronics. This will be expertly packages for safe travel to arrive safely as shown. I will also purchase insurance to ensure a smooth transaction should anything out of the ordinary happen in shipping.
