Here is a restored parlor guitar - probably mail order - that I am dating 1910-1920 … it was made by Regal for Lyon & Healy.
Book matched spruce top, mahogany back and sides; metal tailpiece. Bon-original bridge.
Restorations: Neck reset, with carbon fiber rod inserted. Headstock crack also repaired, mahogany veneer; 1 7/8” nut, 24 1/4” scale length, 12 3/4” large bout. Replacement period machine heads.
The tone is very loud, woody and projecting, it barks!
Sadly, it’s just all a bit TOO loud and projecting for my tastes.
Action—see for yourself: Just under 1/8” at first fret; just under 1/4” at seventh fret; 1/4” at twelfth fret.
Comes with a non-original chipboard case in pretty bad shape—used for shipping protection.
Ships UPS Ground to Continental USA only.
