Designed by Joe Veillette and Michael Tobias (MTD), a guitar handmade in Japan not to be confused with the Avante brand manufactured in Korea, of lesser quality and of greater quantity on the used market. Looks like the last AV2-SB to be posted for sale was sold right here on Reverb for over 1800.
These guitars were designed by two well-known and well-respected bass guitar builders in the USA, Michael Tobias (MTD) and Joe Veillette (Veillette-Citron and Joe Veillette Guitars) and handmade by Kazuo Yairi at the Yairi factory in Kani, Gifu-Japan.
Scale length - 27.75"
Nut width - 1.75"
A fantastic sounding and playing guitar as to be expected from the designers and the builders. There are a few small chips in the binding and an impression here or there but is overall in great shape. Comes with a nice soft case with many storage compartments and shoulder straps and 4 sets of La Bella baritone strings.
