Matsumoku Laguna Set Neck design 1970's-80's - dark red

Excellent action, incredible playability and tone. Mohoghany neck, old dark rosewood fretboard with nice abalone inlay. thinner top and back wood than a gibson 335 making it lighter and more resonant. Trapeze tailpiece, vintage guitar with vintage pickups. Tone for days... Has a real delicate feel and responsiveness. Action is low, neck is very comfy, and frets are smooth and round. Great guitar from a short lived brand produced by Matsumoku in Japan. (not the guitar center's failed "laguna" brand from the 1990's- this is from long before that period). An old-school real-deal excellent-playing instrument with unbelievable tone. The combined pickup sound is superb for vintage sounding rhythm lines. and the neck pickup is really fat sounding with a lot of sustain with the vintage humbuckers.. Very very comfortable to play. The guitar strap pin on the back of the neck has been replaced professionally and slightly offset to maintain structural integrity. The original one broke off. It sounds very sweet and friendly this one. Binding has yellowed quite a bit from age but still is structurally sound and the guitar is perfectly set up and amazingly playable and inspiring. Comes with hard case.
