The original neck had an unfortunate cosmetic issue caused by a previous owner. While attempting to remove the factory urethane overspray from the frets, he accidentally scratched the fingerboard around the 5th fret position. A subsequent attempt to sand out the blemish only made the damage more noticeable. The discoloration can be seen in the photos of the original neck.
To ensure the instrument performed at its best, I replaced the original neck with a brand-new Fender Telecaster Roasted Maple neck featuring a comfortable 9.5" radius & frets free of any factory overspray. The replacement neck plays beautifully and has been professionally installed, strung, and set up.
The original neck is included in the sale. Whether you choose to have it repaired, keep it as a spare, or use it for another project, both necks will be yours: the original neck and the upgraded replacement neck currently installed on the instrument.
Additional upgrades include:
• Pickguard static issue corrected. This model series was known for excessive static buildup on the pickguard. The slightest touch would yield ungodly static sounds. To eliminate the problem, I applied conductive shielding paint and installed an anodized copper shielding plate. The guitar is now exceptionally quiet. Absolutely no static.
• Electrosocket/Switchcraft output jack upgrade. The original output jack assembly has been replaced with the far more reliable Electrosocket and Switchcraft combination, a widely respected upgrade among Telecaster players.
This instrument has been thoughtfully improved with playability, reliability, and long-term usability in mind.
