Vintage 1960’s Custom Vintage Shure 444 “chop” bullet microphone with a NOS vintage Astatic HiZ dynamic element. The originall 444 is a desk model. The bottom stand portion of the original mic has been removed (“chopped”) leaving just the mic head. The original non working element has been replaced with a new vintage Astatic model 10-42 dynamic element and HiZ transformer which are producing strong, hot output. Measures 1620 HiZ Ohms on my multimeter (see photo #10). A brand new 10 foot long high quality Mogami cable has been added with a standard 1/4” plug, ready to connect to your amp, mixer or interface. There are several scuffs and imperfections to the finish as well as an engraved number on the cover seen in the photos.

The body of the Shure 444 is made of a composite resin and not metal, Shure called it Armo-Dur (see catalog page photo #11). This makes it much lighter than metal but much stronger.

Unique lightweight HiZ screamer with awesome vintage tone for blues harp or authentic “lo fi” recording.

I pack very carefully and will ship your item the same day as your purchase in most cases, check my feedback!
