I’m offering my Sergei De Jonge lattice-braced spruce top classical guitar, which has been my primary concert and recording instrument for many years. It has a beautiful, mature voice with excellent projection and responsiveness, and I have used it extensively in performance as well as on two album recordings.

I purchased the guitar new from the Guitar Salon in New York in 2005. As is typical of a well-played French-polished instrument, it shows honest signs of use. The thin French polish finish has accumulated minor scratches and wear on the soundboard, sides, and back, but these are cosmetic and do not affect the guitar’s performance.

In 2006, a small hairline crack (shown in the photo with my thumb) was professionally repaired by master luthier Rodrigo Shopis and has remained completely stable. There is also a minor side crack that is cosmetic in nature and does not currently require repair.

This instrument has been carefully maintained throughout its life and represents an excellent opportunity to acquire a fine concert guitar by one of North America’s most respected luthiers. It has opened up beautifully over the years and continues to be a rewarding instrument to play.
