A rare and wonderful tribute bass to Paul McCartney and the legendary Hofner Violin Bass. Authentic German-made, Limited Edition Ed Sullivan Show 500/1 Vintage '62, which commemorates 50 years since the Beatles' iconic appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. 64 were made, and feature all gold hardware and special decals on the pickguard and back of headstock. As a much rarer left-handed bass, this is one of perhaps just a few made.
The bass weighs 4.8 pounds, features a hollow body, German Spruce top, European Flamed Maple back and sides, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, a 30” scale length, 1 5/8” nut width, and 22 frets. Two Hofner humbucking pickups, individual controls for each pickup, on & off selector switches for each pickup, and a solo/rhythm tone switch. Ebony bridge with adjustable metal saddles, white button tuning keys, trapeze tailpiece. Includes original hardshell case, and info tag/booklet.
There are a few marks, a small ding/hole on the back, and on top of the body near the strap button. There is some light spotting showing on the top of the gold plating on the tailpiece. The case is missing one of its latches.
