Up for sale is a beautiful antique C.G. Conn New Wonder LP Cornet, serial #141643, dating to approximately 1915–1916, made in Elkhart, Indiana.
Bell is engraved “The New Wonder / Made by C.G. Conn / Elkhart, Ind.” with heavy Victorian-era scroll engraving covering the entire bell. Union labor stamp on valve casing (“Union MPBP B&SW Label / Patented”) — a nice period detail.
Condition/playability:
All three valves move freely with good compression for a 110-year-old instrument. All slides free. Horn plays — I recommend a professional chem clean before regular use, standard practice for any vintage instrument of this age. Silver plate shows natural age patina consistent with its era. Engraving remains crisp and detailed. All three pistons present with matching serial numbers and period gold-washed tops. Micro-tuner thumbscrew intact. Water key functional.
Included in original green velvet Conn case:
• Two mouthpieces (Conn Wonder + Frank Holton)
• Decorative lyre/stand attachment
• Multiple extra leadpipe shanks and slides
• Original Conn case label intact
Ships double-boxed with full insurance.
