The Gibson GA-5 Les Paul Junior (often dubbed the "Les Paul Jr. amp") is a legendary, 5-watt Class A tube amplifier originally released in the 1950s as a student companion to the Les Paul Junior guitar. Known for its simplistic design and creamy, vintage overdrive, it has become a highly sought-after studio and practice amp
Mid to late 1950s
- Circuit & Wattage: Hand-wired, single-ended Class A design, pushing 5 watts of power. It is frequently compared to the concurrently produced tweed Fender Champ.
- Controls & Inputs: A true no-frills setup featuring a simple Volume control, and two instrument inputs (often high and low gain).
- Speaker: With the original shipped with a unique 5x7" elliptical speaker, though some variants housed 8" speakers.
- Tubes: 1 6V6 (or similar) power tube, 5Y3 rectifier, and a 6SJ7 pentode.
This amp is in great shape overall and works fully. It has tons of wear and we tried to capture that in the pictures.
