A great circa 1931 National Duolian. Repainted in a distressed burgundy enamel.
This guitar is a mutt- a vintage ca.‘31 National Duolian body with a more recent National 12 fret neck. the cover plate is from a 1940 National wood body guitar.
I’m not sure of the cone‘s origin but it sounds great.
These early ‘30s steel bodies are thinner than modern ones and are resonant and a little lighter weight-wise. The body originally had the rare tab-mounted cover plate but has been drilled for the screw on version.
the neck is beefy and straight, with a comfortable “V” shape and being newer has a truss rod and frets in great shape.
Original tuners and tailpiece.
Brand new Gator case.
