Extremely rare Slingerland DuALL Radio Model from 1933. Made only for one year this is an early example with “patent applied for “ on the throw off handle.
This was intended to compete with Ludwig‘s Super Ludwig parallel mechanism.
Ludwig sued and the court found in favor of them and Slingerland had to discontinue the model.
Personally, I prefer the Slingerland but they both provide smooth action for engaging the snares simultaneously.
This particular drum was restored and sold to me through Drugans, and it has been the an excellent players collectible.
Hardware in very good condition. A few age related things here and there, but overall really nice. wrap is tight but it is lifting a bit at the seam, but no big deal.
I believe the snares are original or at least from the era. Tone flange is installed as designed. Calf head on the batter, Attack on the resonant.
Solid shell, and as I’m sure you can imagine sounds fantastic!
Super hard to part with this, but for the right price I will, and the new owner will love the sound and also own important piece of drum history.
