Up for sale is a Mint Jem777sk from 1989, NOT a 30th anniversary reissue. Easily one of, if not the, cleanest examples you'll see on the market, collector/time-capsule condition
This guitar plays great, sounds great, looks great, only problem is that it's easily the most expensive guitar I've owned, and I'm too afraid to touch it. It's been locked in its case 98% of the time since I bought it.
Details
This guitar was put together and finished by Mike Lipe at his LA shop soon after it was purchased by Ibanez, which is now the location of the Ibanez LA Custom shop. The pearloid pickguard, white knobs and switchtip, green single coil cover, and the screw-on trem were all installed by him, not replacements. I bought this guitar from his daughter. The neck plate is a super rare Ibanez USA neckplate, left over from when they moved from Pennsylvania to LA as their USA office. Despite having a 1988 serial number, I believe the guitar was actually finished in '89.
The guitar is in practically brand new condition. I was only able to find 2 tiny dings on the headstock and body (pics 9 and 10) and small surface level neck heel cracks (pics 7 and 8). The guitar will come with a non-original roadrunner hardshell case, and a new push in trem bar and trem-arm socket.
All in all, this guitar is a defining example of early Ibanez craftsmanship.
