This is a collectors gem stone. Before the Gibson E335 was even a gleam in someones eyes they most certainly were inspired by the Epiphone electric archtops (see the publicity photo of Chuck Berry playing this very same model guitar!). All parts are original excepting one tuning peg and one fretboard dot (which I mounted). The tone and volume controls function perfectly. The pickup has a warm and full bodied tone, quite nice for jazz, folk, blues. There is some wear on the fingerboard (the first few frets...see the photos) and on the corresponding frets. Yet, in spite of some wear this guitar plays quite nicely, with a smooth and fluid action. The back of the neck also shows that this guitar saw lots of play. There are NO signs of abuse or anything "wrong" with the guitar. It appears to have been well cared (and played) by the original owner. Action is adjustable on the bridge. The case is brand new and the guitar fits nicely in it. I describe the condition as "good" but given the age and how well cared for it is this is in surprisingly "very good" shape. It is playable, right out of the case, and actually sounds just as good plugged in as unplugged.
