Here we have a beautiful clean example of an all original, Gibson Pre-Historic '57 Reissue Les Paul Custom from 1992. These Pre-historics have a reputation as amazing guitars despite not being 100% historically correct, or perhaps because of it? Anyway this is a cool looking and superb playing Black Beauty. The top has a really nice carve to it. It is resonant and open and the original ’57 Classics sound simply amazing; these were Gibson’s first attempt at a proper PAF replica. The weight is 4.6kg. The neck is smooth and fast with a comfortable ’59 profile carve. It has a lovely dense Ebony fingerboard. Neck is dead straight, truss rod checked and functioning fine, plenty of life left in the newly polished frets, which still have their nibs. Condition wise it probably the best example of a '57 Pre-Historic we have ever had in. The binding has aged to a deep yellow which always looks good on an ebony custom. The are no big ugly dings on the guitar and no bucklerash etc. The gold metal has a nice uniform surface patina. No history of breaks or repairs. Neck is dead straight truss rod checked and functioning fine, plenty of life left in the frets, which still have their nibs. Complete with original tan hardshell case with pink silk shroud, in fine working condition. This is a very cool old custom with all the gentle aging you could want but none of the bad or ugly stuff you usually get. It’s well along the road to being a real vintage looker. These early 90’s pre-historic customs are very sought after. A great looking/playing custom and a superb investment. Don’t miss it!
