We are selling this rare Generalmusic GEM GM-X sound module, a compact and powerful USB/MIDI expander sound module made in Italy in 2007 and designed for modern music production, multimedia applications, and live performance!

The GM-X is part of GEM’s “X Series”, featuring the acclaimed DRAKE™ (DSP RISC Advanced Keyboard Engine) technology — a fully programmable DSP architecture capable of advanced sound generation, effects processing, and physical modeling! The same technology was used in the renowned Promega and Realpiano series.

Thanks to USB connectivity, the GM-X works like a hardware “plug-in sound module”, delivering high-quality sounds without putting any load on your computer’s CPU.

The GM-X is particularly strong in the emulation of acoustic pianos and vintage keyboards, making it ideal for both stage and studio use. Alongside excellent grand piano sounds, it features highly convincing Rhodes® and Wurlitzer® electric piano tones.

In our opinion, sound #6 stands out as an exceptional Wurlitzer-style patch — easily among the most realistic we’ve heard on a hardware module!
