Note: I've pulled, edited, and relisted this loaded body because a bit of new damage materialized while it was in my care. I set a screwdriver on a surface that turned out to be on a slight decline, and down it went on this fine piece of Fender craftsmanship.

So I'm treating this chip in the finish as a $150 accident, which brings the price down to $625.

Any other blemishes you notice were there when I received this item.

And remember that I'm willing to consider any reasonable offers.

This is a 1984 blonde Telecaster body with all hardware and electronics included. The only missing part is a neck.

The 1983-84 period was a transitional one at Fender. The Standard Series of the time introduced several fundamental changes to time-honored design elements. The Stratocasters saw the most dramatic experiments--controversial to say the least. Fortunately, the Telecasters were minimally altered. They featured top-loading stringing systems, rather than the typical through-the-body method. And the bridge contained six saddles, one per string, rather than the usual three-cylinder saddles. In fact, Fender had implemented top-loading bridges in the past (including a Telecaster Jimmy Page used). And the individual saddles really do make for improved intonation.

As for the body at hand, neither the pickups nor the electronics are original stock, although the original 1983 CTS pots are included with the sale. The body has been fitted with Fender Jason Isbell Pickups, voiced by pickup engineering legend Tim Shaw.

The body shows some light-to-moderate wear. It contains two conspicuous flaws, one an indentation in the finish, the other a chip caused by a screwdriver, which, though very small, unforunately goes all the way to the wood (see photos). There are a few other small dents and scratches, mostly along the bouts. It's in surprisingly good shape after 42 years.

This is a lovely vintage American body. Give it a neck, and it's instantly ready to play.

Thank you for considering this fine piece of Fender history.
