Vintage Fender Coronado II Wildwood II 1967 - 1968 Natural / Green-Gold Burst - Excellent Condition

Description

Up for sale is a stunning, incredibly rare piece of Fender history: a 1967-1968 Fender Coronado II Wildwood II in Excellent condition.

The Coronado Wildwood series is famous for its unique manufacturing process, where living beech trees were injected with aniline dyes prior to harvest, resulting in the gorgeous, fully organic, vibrant grain patterns you see here. No two Wildwood guitars are exactly alike, making this a true one-of-a-kind collector's piece.

Year & Authentication

Based on the neck plate serial number (217444), this guitar dates perfectly to late 1967 or early 1968. It features the iconic matching Wildwood veneered headstock with the "Fender Coronado II" script logo.

Condition & Playability

This instrument is in Excellent vintage condition, which is highly unusual for Coronados of this era.

Cosmetics: The finish is incredibly clean with brilliant gloss. There are only minimal signs of light handling and minor lacquer checking as expected from a 55+ year old vintage instrument, but absolutely no major dings, cracks, or structural issues.

Hardware & Electronics: 100% functional. It comes equipped with the highly sought-after original DeArmond single-coil pickups, which deliver that crisp, woody, vintage chime. Original knobs, switch tip, bridge, and the incredibly rare original tremolo arm are all present and accounted for.

Neck & Frets: The neck is straight, the bound rosewood fingerboard with block inlays feels fantastic, and the frets still have plenty of life left in them.
