Here we have a rare and rather unique vintage 80s bass. The Shredder series only existed for a few years and was intended as a budget to mid-end selection of guitars and basses. They were produced in Korea likely by Cortek and sold under the Kramer brand.
The bare-bones specs and rather cute and compact design in contrast with THE SHREDDER name and all black coloring gives it a very unique and somewhat sleeper vibe, which I personally love about it.
It features a 30" short scale, passive electronics, vintage two saddle bridge, and a very dark almost ebony-like fretboard which really ties the look of the bass together.
The overall condition of it is very good, especially for its age. There's little wear and only some very small dents in the paint along the edges, it's otherwise very clean.
Playability-wise it is very good with one flaw, the first fret of the E-string rattles, likely due to a high fret. It's otherwise solid, with a great neck feel, good action and general solid feel to the build which you wouldn't expect from a bass like this. The tuners and all hardware, including the truss rod functions perfectly and feel good to use.
It weighs in at a lightweight 7.4Ib and in combination with the short scale and simple nature makes it very comfortable and really fun to just pick up and play.
