A rarity from the Ramirez store. I've never seen anything like it. A traditionally built Jose Ramirez 1a with cutaway and pickup system (similar to the Taylor expression system). It was a special order at the time. (The pickup system does not work, needs an upgrade, or could be remove)

For over half a century, Ramirez has been making instruments played by countless professionals from Sting to Segovia, Chet Atkins to Sabicas and Lee Ritenour to Christopher Parkening. The name Ramirez stands out when it comes to classical guitars. The guitars of José Ramirez are world-famous.

This great guitar is very easy to play, has a beautiful neck and a good string action (3.8 mm E and 2.7 mm e at the 12th fret). The scale length is 650 mm and the nut width is 52 mm. It has a cedar top and rosewood back and sides.

This great guitar has the richness, robustness and depth of sound that Ramirez is known for in its best instruments. The sound is powerful yet clear and has that special warm, mysterious and atmospheric quality. The sound is produced by controlled and balanced layers of overtones resting on the crystal clear fundamental. It has an almost cathedral-like presence that gives it plenty of power for any concert hall.

Ramirez 1a models are among the most prized by collectors, but they have been and continue to be played by world-class concert guitarists. Both for their sound and their collectability, this is a highly desirable example of a Ramirez guitar.
