Here's an interesting one!
The previous owner decided to dye the fretboard... why? I have no idea. The dye bled into some of the cracks along the side binding, and you can still see traces of it. Honestly, it looks kind of cool, but it may not be everyone's cup of tea.
Structurally, the guitar is solid with no cracks, breaks, or repairs anywhere.
I removed the cheap generic pickups and upgraded it with:
- Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge
- Gibson 490R in the neck
The guitar sounds dramatically better now with a much fuller and more balanced tone.
I also polished the frets and cleaned off as much of the dye as possible. There is still some remaining, but it should continue to fade with regular playing.
I'm not a luthier, so a fresh setup wouldn't be a bad idea, but it plays just fine as it sits.
Ships same or next business day.
