The “Super Action 80” alto saxophone is a transitional model produced between the Mark VII and the Super Action 80 Series II. It was manufactured only for a short period in the 1980s before the transition to the Series II, making it a relatively rare model with limited production numbers. Based on the serial number, this instrument was made around 1982 and is considered an early example of the SA80 line.
The successor model, the Super Action 80 Series II, is widely regarded as one of the most popular professional saxophones in the world.
This instrument offers rich overtones and strong resonance, providing a solid and responsive playing feel. It also has a distinctive vintage character in its tone.
