Up for sale is a vintage 1960s Teisco Del Rey ET-200 "Tulip" electric guitar, made in Japan. This iconic garage-rock instrument features a classic three-tone sunburst finish and the highly desirable black pickguard adorned with etched floral/dandelion accents.Condition Notes:
The guitar is in honest vintage condition with plenty of retro mojo, but structurally excellent where it counts most.
- Neck & Frets: The neck is straight! This is a massive rarity for a Teisco of this era. The original spoke-wheel truss rod nut at the heel is fully visible, clean, and adjustable. The rosewood fretboard is solid with all dot inlays present. Frets show vintage flat profiles with light wear but plenty of life left and no deep string divots.
- Body & Finish: The sunburst finish looks great on the front. The back shows honest player wear, including minor scuffs, finish pocket scrapes near the upper neck joint, and light paint chipping along the lower body edges. The main back area is remarkably clean and free of heavy buckle rash.
- Headstock & Tuners: The original headstock logo badge is missing. The original strip tuners show heavy patina and oxidation but remain fully functional. Please note that the third tuning button down has been replaced with a non-matching white pearloid button.
- Hardware & Electronics: Features the original chrome single-coil pickups and the original mechanical tremolo tailpiece arm. Electronics are untested.
Shipping Info:
The guitar will be professionally packed, and shipped securely with the strings loosened to relieve tension on the neck during transit. Ships within 2 business days via Reverb Safe Shipping. Sold as-is. Please look closely at all photos before purchasing.
