2013 Gibson ES-335 Dot — Bigsby, Whole Lotta Humbuckers, Earned Its Scars — $2,000

This is a player's 335, full stop. I picked it up in 2023 and it's been my daily driver ever since — and before me it was the original owner's main touring axe from new (bought from Sweetwater back in '13). So this thing has worked for a living. It's not a wall-hanger and it never was.

The tone is exactly what you want from a 335: woody, vocal, sits perfect in a mix and gets nasty when you push it. The Seymour Duncan Whole Lotta Humbucker set is the secret sauce — fat, open, PAF-on-steroids, cleans up gorgeous off the volume knob. Factory-spec Bigsby added in '13 with a Towner tension bar, so the wiggle is smooth and it actually stays in tune. No other mods. Original pickups are long gone, but trust me, you don't want 'em back.

Plays like a dream — low effortless action, no buzz, no dead frets, plenty of fret life. Holds intonation dead solid, tunes up and stays. The nitro's got real honest wear: checking, dings, scuffs. Naturally relic'd from actual use, not some shop's sandpaper-and-coffee job.

The one thing you need to know: in 2015 the headstock cracked in transit (under the original owner) and got a proper pro repair — aligned, re-glued, mahogany reinforcement splines. You have to be told it's there to find it, and it's been rock-solid for a decade. I'm pricing it to reflect the repair, plain and simple.
