For sale is this Juno 6 which has been completely overhauled. The power supply has been reconditioned, recapped throughout the voice board, all faders have been replaced with new. All wood work, all the shxxty chipboard, has been replaced with beautiful mahogany. Keybed completely stripped, rust removed and primed for protection, lubricated and rebuilt. Finally it has been overhauled with tubbutec mod for midi io functionality and computer integration.

Where did this machine come from? Out of long term storage, it had boxes resting on top of it and had broken switches, pitch bend lever, bent faders and a couple of broken keys. Legend has it that it belonged to the drummer in T rex, however, there is no supporting evidence other than the anecdote from the person I got it off who claimed the manual, which is gone, had his notes in. For this reason, this is not claimed as fact but its part of the lore of this unit!

The woodwork was replaced as it was chipped and scratched to the point it was offensive to my eyes so while it was stripped down I went to the joiners shop and remade it. Now it looks the bollocks instead of that awful faux wood!

As you can imagine this restoration was pretty thorough, there are small scuffs, scratches and dents to the synth but she's 44 years old so she's bound to have a few. I have not tried to restore the panel as I'm an electrical engineer not a detailer. You can see from the photos she is in remarkable condition for her age though.

So, with this overhaul she is in better fighting shape than any other Juno out there and the sound is stellar compared to the Juno 106 which is very flat in comparison. They are different beasts altogether, I tried the 106 and was non plussed but this one blew me away when I got it working. The sound has to be heard to be believed on this thing. Not heard the behringer to compare to but I doubt it would hold a candle to this thing. I am a scientist but when it comes to old Roland gear there is some degree of voodoo that I am at a loss to explain away...

Why am I getting rid of it? Since I got a jp6 it just doesn't get a look in anymore unfortunately. I make harder acid trance/ techno so it's less suited to that sound. I gotta make room as it is on a stand in the living room, the missus ain't too happy about that...

Plus also comes in a wooden hard case for storage in the studio to keep dust off it with cutouts for your cables.
