For sale is a 2000 Warwick Thumb BO 4-string bass, made in Germany, in a natural oil finish. Serial number C 073570 00, dating this bass to March 2000.
This is the classic German-made bolt-on Thumb bass with the compact, ergonomic body shape, natural wood finish, black Warwick hardware, 24-fret fingerboard, and the unmistakable tight, punchy, mid-forward Warwick tone. The Thumb BO is known for its focused low end, aggressive growl, and excellent note definition, making it a great choice for rock, funk, fusion, metal, recording, and modern bass work.
This bass has been upgraded with EMG pickups and an 18V active electronics setup, using two 9V batteries in the control cavity. The EMGs give it a clean, powerful, articulate active tone with plenty of output and clarity. Controls are currently configured with three knobs.
Includes the original-style Warwick hard case, shown in the photos.
Cosmetically, this bass shows normal signs of use for an instrument from 2000. There are visible surface scratches, small dings, finish marks, minor edge wear, light headstock wear, and some hardware wear/tarnish. The natural oil finish still looks great overall and shows the wood grain beautifully. Please review all photos closely, as they are part of the description.
The electronics cavity has been photographed to show the 18V battery setup. The bass should be considered a player-grade German Warwick with upgraded electronics rather than a collector-grade all-original example.
