Up for sale is a beautiful, deeply resonant 2013 Gibson Custom Shop '58 Les Paul Standard Reissue (R8) in a gorgeous Bourbon Burst VOS finish.

The year 2013 was a milestone benchmark for the Gibson Custom Shop, introducing highly sought-after historic accuracy upgrades including a single-piece rosewood fingerboard, hot hide glue neck-joint construction, Kluson Deluxe tuners, and Custom Bucker pickups.

This particular R8 sports a spectacular flame top that strikes the perfect balance—it has plenty of gorgeous movement and character without being overly loud or "over-the-top," keeping it firmly in line with the classic, understated look of an authentic 1958 burst.

The guitar is in overall Very Good to Excellent condition. It features Gibson’s factory VOS (Vintage Original Spec) treatment, giving the nitrocellulose finish a gentle, aged patina and giving the nickel hardware a beautifully tarnished, broken-in look straight from the Custom Shop.

Notable Vintage Details

• Binding Bleed: Like the vast majority of accurate historic reissues from this era, this guitar shows typical binding bleed along the neck. This is where the cherry aniline dye from the mahogany neck naturally migrates into the cream binding over time. This is not a defect—it is a completely authentic characteristic of vintage 1950s construction and a detail Gibson collectors actively welcome.

• Body & Finish: Overall Very Good to Excellent. The VOS finish is smooth and clean. Being a lightly played instrument, it shows only minor signs of careful use (light surface swirling/polish marks on the back), completely blending in with the factory aged look. No deep gouges, major accidental dings, or structural issues.

• Neck & Frets: The neck is straight and the truss rod adjusts perfectly. The frets are in excellent shape with minimal wear and nearly all of their life left.

• Electronics & Hardware: 100% original, stock, and fully functional. The factory-aged nickel hardware looks incredible and functions flawlessly.
