This is an odd one. The serial is 1978, but the dot neck and Strat style knobs made me think 80's-1 pot is a 1980 pot, one is an early 1981, the other has solder over the date, so feel comfortable saying it left the factory in 1981. But a 1978 serial number! The sunburst has a little more cinnamon in it, like it's turning into Sienna Sunburst, but still has that 1970's dark sunburst vibe. The pickguard is a replacement, don't know if it should be black or white but did not have a proper screw hole lining up (mainly the hole by the pickup, bass side) but hey, we love the John Paul Jones look so left it along. Dark gray bobbin pickups, other than the pickguard looks pretty straight. It came in a wood/tolex non Fender case, but a nice case, and we have an 80's ass case if you would prefer that (in the pictures). Plays and sounds great, a lot of punch, and a solid piece of wood at 11 pounds 3 ounces. Gotta love that era! Frets show very little wear and it's ready to boogie. Thanks for looking!
